See Kai Run, Toddler Shoes Product Review and Giveaway!

Let me say these toddler shoes by See Kai Run are adorable! I was so excited when they arrived from my UPS man the other day, and imediately showed them to my 2 yo son. We put them on his chubby feet and off he went. They went on easy, and he did not ask to take them off when we got in the car. With his tennis shoes, he always seems to want to take them off. He kept the See Kai Run shoes on!

See Kai Run toddler shoes come in all kinds of styles and colors. Another favorite quality of the See Kai Run shoes, is that they have faux laces, with a velcro strip. The velcro strip is not bulky like most velcro shoes. Definately thought that was nice, so my son's shoes look more like his daddys cool shoes!

I chose the Paul style, because of the suede and the greens and browns. I have to say they looked way better in person, and I was pretty pleased on how they looked online too.

One thing that I was especially impressed with is how See Kai Run gave Soles4Soles 9700 pairs of shoes in the month of November/December during their "share a pair" mathching event.

Super Bowl Sunday Recipes

Sunday is the big day for all the NFL fans! But don't worry, if you do not like football, there is always food and of course the commercials.

Here are a few of my easy favorites.

Lil' Smokies

Crock Pot
Lil'Smokies
BBQ Sauce
3 tablespoons or so Grape Jelly

Mix in crockpot, and serve when hot. Can also be done on stove top, if Crockpot is unavailable.

Layered Dip

Layer Items in Order in a small cassarole dish.

Cream Cheese, Can use less fat
Black Beans, Drained and rinsed. (must drain well)
Rotel (Drain well)
Cheddar Cheese

Heat in oven 350 for about 20 minutes or heat in microwave until cheese is melted.
Eat with Tostitos, we like the Scoop ones.

The Velvetta Cheese Dip

I like to use 1 pound of velvetta (print coupon from my side bar coupon list for $1 off), I can of rotel, not drained. Cook in microwave until melted.

Can add sausage to cheese dip to make the dip extra special.

You can make all these dips for under $20 and they should feed an army of people. Ask your friends to bring the chips, and you can provide the dips!

Also, when hosting a party, don't be afraid to let people help out! If your guests ask if they can bring anything, let them do so!

Product Review Nuture My Body Organic Beauty Products, CLOSED with 134 comments!

While browsing the mom blogs, I came accross one of the mom blogs, that was doing a giveaway for Organic Beauty Products, so I began to check out this company online and through Twitter, and found @Rich_Arnold and quickly became one of his followers.

They sent me a bottle of Organic Baby Shampoo, with an EWG rating of 0. This shampoo, not only cleaned my childs hair wonderfully, but his hair smelled so clean and fresh. My son has a gorgeous set of hair with beautiful curls. To read more click on link Organic Baby Shampoo and you will be directed directly to this organic baby shampoo, and can read about the importance of the EWG ratings.
I also got to try the organic citrus body wash, and it was wonderful as well. I reminded me of the beauty products that they use at upscale spa's. The texture of the body wash was light and nonsticky. It went on smooth and lathered nicely, and worked well when I shaved my legs. I tend to use body washes when I shave opposed to shaving creams. I am very statisfied with these products and you will be too!

Now here is your chance to get these great products, go to http://www.nurturemybody.com/ and take a look at the collection they have to offer for great organic beauty products for the whole family! There is a sale going on, and FREE shipping with qualifing purchases!

How to Use Dollar Tree for Preschool Learning

I was talking to my cousin on what to do with our kids in the winter months that would be fun, and boy did she have some fabulous ideas! So I asked her if I could talk about her ideas, add some of my own here for my mom blog, there are many mom blogs out that encourage learning and I hope to be an inspiration to you all! Here are a few she came up with and the items can be bought at your local Dollar Tree.

1. Toy section, there are many different bags of bugs. You can buy these bugs, and you can have a treasure hunt in the bath tub. Fill your bath with tons of bubbles, and then hide the bugs in the bath tub, and your child can look for them.

2. Shaving Cream, you know the kind that is the white foam. Child can play this in the bath tub or on the table. This is a great thing to do for sensory motor skills. The texture of the cream is fun for the child to feel, smoosh, and touch. You can also make the shaving cream change colors by adding food coloring, tempura paint from www.crayola.com , or watercolors. If you would like, you can use the shaving cream on paper, and when it dries, it turns into a 3D art project. The crayola website, is great to check out to find out what is new from the Crayola Brand!

3. Another fun idea, is to look for the bath mats, they have some small shapes, with the suctions on the bottom, at The Dollar Tree, they come in packs of 8 or so. These would be fun to play with in the bath tub or on the windows of your home. This will help with fine motor skills, as the pulling and placing of the clings will encourage fingers to pull and push.

These are just a few fun ideas, that are easy to do and will enhance learning and exploring for your child.

Terrible Tuesday, Home with Sick kids!

Well, today was a day full of laundry, not normal laundry, but throw-up sick laundry. Apparently somehow 2 out of my 3 boys have been visited by the Stomache Bug! So last night my 2 1/2 yo was throwing up all over his favorite blankies, crying and taking a bath all at 1 am. Then again, and again, I must have done 3 loads of laundry in the middle of the night, and lucky me got to sleep on the coach with sick 2yo, I better not get sick!

So, what does a mom do with a child with the pukes? Well, I guess I learned to make him stay away from milk. (stay away or you will be SO in trouble, if you know what I mean). So lots of love and pedialite. Made a little bit of Jell-O, but he has not eaten a thing since last night, and has not gotten sick again, since 10 am this morning, hopefully we will all have good night sleep tonight!

Oh, about the other one of my boys, he is 16, and yes he is sick like the 2 yo, difference is he can make it to the bathroom, thank goodness gracious! Or I would be in extra trouble!

Husband came home from work today, and said "you know, last night was the first time I did laundry in YEARS!) It was nice of him to step in and lend a hand during the absolutely disgusting evening!

Stay healthy you all, get the lysol out, clorox wipes, etc... Keep this bug away, far away, good thing you cannot get my germs over the internet (BTW, have sprayed computer station down with lysol as well)

Get $10 with NEW or Transferred Prescript for Target!

This is not the greatest of all greatest deals, but I am going to share anyways. Well, I went to the dermatologist and he gave me a prescript, so I took it to Target, because that is where my coupon was for. Lucky day for me, as the $10 Coupon I had, I got to use on a $4 prescript. I had no idea that the prescript was only for $4, that might have been why the young man at the register said I could see if it would work during my checkout time. Well low and behold it worked! So I paid $4 for my Prescript, and got my $10 GC.

Well, killed some time while waiting for Prescript to be filled, and ended up going by the bakery, got my 16 yo a free cookie, he was starving as this was right after school.

Also, found Star Wars Underwear, (not for the 16 yo) these were for my 2 yo. Along with some new Gerber Sippy cups, they are my fav by the way, and 1 pack of scooby snacks, and granola bar pack. I spent $12.09, Used my $10 GC, and paid $2.09 out of pocket for all of that grocery purchase, and do not forget, I paid $4 for the Prescript, so total spent was $6.09 for all kinds of stuff we actually needed!

The sweetest part of the trip is that my son was so excited to go home and give his little bro all his new surprises, it was special. When we got home Braddock, the 2 yo, said is "that for me?" and "thanks Braxton!"

Remodeling 2008, Reflection of the Journey

We began 2008 a major overhaul of our home. We live on 2.5 acres of land in Oklahoma, and love the area we live in just not our home. So we took the plunge with the guidance of my Uncle, and we are now living in a wonderfully updated 1978 home! Sounds all easy, right. Get a contractor, decide what you like and knock down some walls. Well here are some of the funny stories on what happened along the way.

First of all, you maybe thinking, did you move out of the house, take an extend vacation in to our home in Flordia? (Great idea if we had one!) Oh, no we got a pod, packed up all the stuff from the downstairs living space, which was 1200 square feet or so, and put all that great stuff in the P.O.D. (They are not as big as they look either!) Then moved our 2 oldests sons in the same room, kept the 18 month old in his own room, and my hubby and I moved in to our middle sons room. In that room we set up our desktop computer, and our small 19 inch T.V. (had no cable, used an antenna). Are you getting a nice visual, yet? Then in the hallway, we lined up some shelves, that is where I kept some food, and set up a microwave. (oh, that was later, the first month, I went to the garage to microwave food.) Moved the microwave upstairs, after I figured that I looked a little ridiclulous mixing my macaroni and cheese in the bowl, that I had set on the lid of the trash can! So, this is how we lived for 6 months, oh, did I mention my youngest son was 18 months when we started this!

Another funny thing that happened was whne the dumpster spilled over in the front yard, along with a tractor trailer rig, which smooshed my stroller that was left beside the dumpster! Oh, no big deal right, well it is when the dumpster is about 36 feet long!

Now there is much more to go along with this remodel, but cannot type anymore right now, but will share with you other funny stories in a later post, on how to survive a remodel!

One picture is of the dumpster, after it tipped over, the other is what the tractor trailer rig looked like in my yard!

I am delighted to be doing a product review and giveaway for Little Debbie products, and their new 100 calorie snacks!

I was sent 8 different snacks, from Little Debbie. I Remember eating Little Debbie Nutter Butters at my grandmas house when I was a little girl, and eating the awe so good swiss cakes, packed in my lunch box from my mom, who by the way made the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

So far I have tried the Marshmallow Treats, similar to rice crispies, oh and they were so good! My 2 yo ate the Triple Fudge Brownies, and he wanted more! He is a very picky eater!

New snacks include, Gingerbread Cookie, Yellow Cake, Chocolate Cake, Nutty Bar Singles, Whole Wheat Wafers with Peanut Butter, Snow Puffs, Marshmallow Treats, and Triple Fudge Brownies. One added feature with the new Little Debbie 100 calorie snacks, is that thery are individually wrapped singles, and not doubles like the original Little Debbies snacks. Okay, I am so excited to have gone shopping today and got some pretty sweet deals! I went to Walgreens and got the Reynolds foil, for FREE, used coupon from 11/16 and it was on sale for .99 after the coupon from the ad. Then I got my Garnier Hair stuff, for FREE, I had a $1 off coupon from todays paper, and with Easy saver coupon, made it FREE!

I got FREE perfume at Walgreens with a bit of overage, and ended up with all the above, plus 2 gallons of milk, 2 dole 4 pack peaches, and a 12 pack of diet coke, for $7.63!

I then went to Walmart, to quickly pick up some Steamers, used my $1 off coupon from 11/16, same insert I got my foil coupon in, and got the Valley Fresh Steamers for .23, some people report these to be $1 but at the Walmart I went in, they were $1.23.

Those are just a few deals I was able to do. I found more Garnier coupons, and noticed there is a pretty good deal with possible free Electrol Sol, with coupon that came in newspaper today!

How to vacation with a 2 year old

Traveling with a two year old can be a challenge, whether traveling by car, train, or airplane. Here is some first hand experience on what to do and what I wish I would have done to make traveling much easier. Feel free to comment with your own ideas!

Packing for the plane. Is your child potty trained? If so, make sure to pack atleast 2 changes of clothes, you never know what to expect. We missed a connecting flight and those change of clothes came in handy!

Baby wipes, great for everyone in the group!

Anti bacterial gel, under 3 oz, so it will not be taken by security

A pop up tent, (I did not take one, but my cousin travels with one) you never know when you are going to be delayed at the airport! We were in the Miami Airport from 5 am to 7 pm on Sunday! Wish I would of had a tent!

Small toys, pack in a zippered baggie, I used an plastic case that my new table cloth came in!

Cards with pictures on them, like flash cards.

Playdoh is iffy.. I got playdoh all the way to the Grand Cayman, then on the way home the security guy took it, it was travel size under 3 oz as well.

Blankets, and a pillow are nice to have too.

Sandwiches, and snacks. Airports charge way to much for their food! When traveling with small children, I had no problems taking milk or juice in a sippy cup through security check point, I just showed it to the TSA agents, and it was never a problem.

A portable DVD player is nice, but my son likes to push all the buttons on ours to fast forward the movies.

Stroller, is a must. My husband was telling me we really did not need one, (I had to buy a new one) because Braddock could be carried if needed by one of us, or his 2 teen bro's. Well, I bought and brought a stroller and after as many hours, lines, and more lines, such as customs, coming back from another country, we would really have been exhausted!

Last but not least, do not overpack for anyone that you are traveling with!

Welcome 2009, Goodbye 2008 Let's make it a Great Year!

Well, now that we are entering a new year, new challenges, new family situations, it is now time to make the best of 2009. Are you making a New Year's Resolution? I suggest, taking one day at a time. I am going to become a healthier me, not by crazy diets, but a one day at a time approach. I also need to exercise this year, and continue my Bible Study.

As for finances, I am going to find the deals, and make a point to share my knowledge and my deals I find with my readers. I am going to do menu planning, to the best of my unorganized selfs ability, and track my reciepts. Even if I do not take advantage of the deals, I will be sure to share with you what I find.

As for my blog, I hope to make it bigger and better, add giveaways, and help others succeed in whatever their adventure in life should be. Talk about toddlers and teens, that is my life, 3 boys, 1 toddler, 2 teens... and of course my husband who I am sure feels neglected half the time since my younger one is so demanding of my time!
