MOM Talk: Preschool Confereces TODAY!

The time has come for the first ever parent teacher conference with Ms. C and Ms. A, to discuss "Batty" (because he likes batman). I have to admit, I am a bit nervous. I am pre-writing this part right now, because, well I can. When I get home, I will let you know the outcome!

Why would I be a bit nervous, well... no need to explain. Batty lives in a house full of Testosterone, in full effect. Two teenage brothers, that adore Batty, and antagonize him when they are home most days. Then there is father that adores Batty, and thinks he can do no harm. (Therefore, it is nice to have them all away from home ,at work, at school, and at sports, the less time around the better, unless I need a babysitter!) My nephew is over on the weekends, he is 8.. and his dad well he is living with us at the moment. So, yes I do have to many boys in the house! This is why I am a bit nervous.

I am now back, it was a great visit from the teachers. Always positive, upbeat, and you can truely tell that they love those children. Mine had a great report, however realize we need to be talking about our colors, numbers and letters a little more often. But, he is a young one, and I just really need him to learn how to get along with other children his own age. I am thankful he is in a wonderful program that is child centered and developmentally appropriate.

Grocery Coupons This Week 11/22/09

One lonely Smart Source (which I refer to SS) insert. But, it does have some $1/1 Chinet coupons inside. Which means, free napkins, and .50 plates at Homeland this week, and the best thing is this ad for Homeland lasts until Thursday. See what I am buying at Homeland.

Target: NEW Printable Grocery Coupon Policy

The day of printing thousands of Target grocery coupons is NOW over! Here is what I know from experience. So, here is my story.

I was driving by Target, and thought, hum. wonder if I can print grocery store coupons from the kiosk, since Target has changed their coupon site, to a downloadable coupon printer, etc.. thingy. So, I popped into Target, and went to the kiosk, to print my coupons, and guess what, the site would not even load and show me the coupons! Target Coupon Policy (click highlighted words to read)

So, I asked the nice young man about it, and he said I just printed coupons the other day. I said, well sir, did you know the coupons site has changed. He answers "no". We try, no luck, and no printing my coupons. Because I really wanted the DelMonte Veggie Coupon to pair with my $1/8 manufacter coupon. No Luck.. No Printing, got manager. So, I got to explain to her what was going on. She did not know of the change in coupons, weird.. I know. So, I nicely explained to her about the site changing etc..

Fast Forward: Back home, no printed Target Grocery Coupons from the store, home again to see if my Lap Top, Vista software, would let me download the coupon printer....(I disabled my virus software for a few minutes, I read that if you do so the coupons may print, etc..)

Ta Daaa.. the coupons printed. Yippee... buy wait, there is a sad part. I only got to print 2 like coupons. Boo Hoo.. I know. The 3 rd one printed said already printed the household limit. Now that is a sad day in Target Coupon Land. Hope this helps, and spread the word!

Have you heard about these toys? If not, let me tell ya, they have some of the most unbelieveable toys out on the market. They are colorful, easy to clean, functional, and developmentaly appropriate for the ages provided. Krista, sent my son, who is 3 and 1/2 the Tools and Cars Kit. I had this hidden for awhile (sorry Krista) until I bought batteries, and was ready to have a fun after school activity on a rainy, cold, Oklahoma day (which was Monday).

Well, after I took the item out of the plastic, got my batteries found a screw driver that would fit the tiny screw, and unscrewed put the batteries in wrong, put the cover back on, and then realized I had to unscrew again.. *sigh* only because the darn screw was tightened by the Incredible Hulk.. (teen boys could have saved the day, but they were still at school) We finally got to play with the 3 vehicles.

Still a little unsure about this complicated, vague directions, and tons of pieces how we were going to put the vehicles together. But we managed, it is truely amazing how smart those little creatures (preschoolers are), we just don't give them much credit most of the time.

Positive: We (I) got them all put together.. then I thought we were done, game over..Clean up Clean up everyone everywhere.. la la la...

But, the fun did not stop then. He carried the nice plastic box filled with the tools, and cars around all night. Would take the vehicles out, take the screws off, put them back on, again and again. He would change the screw colors to match the color of the part he was fixing etc..

Now, for night time... he wanted to sleep with the toy. Then when he woke up, wanted it again, and then after school. He has played with this toy nonstop! (He is now napping, and his plan is when he wakes up, from his fast nap, well you guessed it... play with his cars and tools)

Review: RAW Minerals Discovery Kit

I was sent a Raw Minerals Discovery Kit to try out and give you all some of my input on this mineral based make-up. In this kit, I received 3 brushes, and 4 jars of powder (mineral based). The powder can be mixed to get the right shade, and goes on so smooth and when you apply the mineral glow, a nice shine is present. Check out, the how to apply mineral powder you will find it quick and easy. One thing I did like, was the non-sticky feeling. You know, the feeling of the lotion foundation and then it gets all over your fingers, etc.. And did I say easy. As a mom on the go, that is really important feature.

Overall, I am not a real make up kind of girl, so putting this product on was easy and most important quick. The internet site, is a great help in explaining how to apply the make up. The look was clean, and flawless. Which is pretty important to me, I do not want to look like I have caked on make up.

In the kit, there is a DVD, to help you with all the how to's. Also, the 3 brushes that came in the kit were really nice brushes. The jars were pretty small, and you get 4 different ones. Two of them are shades of foundation, one Mineral Glow and then the Active Veil SPF 18. (I like the fact that there is spf in the last one)

TOP 10 Holiday Shopping Must Do

1. Shop when you are not tired, cranky or hungry. (leave kids at home, too)

2. Make a LIST, stick to your LIST, as best as you can. List should include, gift ideas, names of people you are shopping for, etc..

3. Check online for coupons, codes, and deals before you venture out. If you are shopping at the Mall, there are normally printable coupons for stores at the Mall. Check the newspapers, too. Macy's will have coupons 80% off the time it seems.

4. Pack water bottles, snacks, etc.. so you will not have to waste time and money standing in line to get a drink or snack.

5. Check your gift closet of your house, you might have things hanging around in there you have bought through out the year for Christmas gifts for others.

6. Money really tight, think about making gift baskets with food, health and beauty items, or cleaning supplies, you have purchased free or cheap after coupons. You could buy a cute container to use, and decorate, and organize with a big bow to make the gift look interesting.

7. Make sure you are not shopping for yourself... this is about shopping for others. If you see something you like, then write it down and let your family know about where to buy it, find it, etc..

8. Black Friday is not the only day to get deals, the deals have begun early. I was able to get 2 Blu Ray Disney Movies for $13.99 last week, and tons of board games.

9. When you get home, wrap presents, so they will be ready to go. Organize receipts, write down what you bought and for whom. (you might forget what you bought, believe me this will happen at least once)

10. Shop smart.. just because it is on sale, a great deal does not mean you have to buy the item. Especially if you do not need it, want it, or have anyone to give it too. If at all possible, shop using cash only. Write down the dollar amount next to each person you would like to stay budgeted for, you do not want to be paying for this Christmas, next year!

Most of all, remember Christmas' true meaning. Jesus Birthday.. not about shopping, buying, giving and receiving.

Monday Mission: Toys R' Us Games

Today, I hopped in my car and headed out to Walgreens, Toys r' Us, and the Mall. I went to Walgreens first, as it always seems to take eternity while I am in there. I did not do so great, but I guess it was okay successful. Minus the problem with Robitussin to Go for $2.49 did not generate RR's. So here is the deal:

Basically here is the deal:

Recently at the Save Up 2009 conference, I got to personally meet, Nicole's Nickles. I remembered that she had posted earlier this year how to get the Wii and Wii Fit for under $40, $500 GC and more! She has worked out step by step directions on how she mastered this plan of action. Apparently it does take some organization skills, time, and more time. But in the end, you end up with $500 gc and pay only $40 to $50! WOW.. now that is truely amazing.

I have yet to try this, but I have spoke to a few other bloggers that have done this deal and said it truely did work.
