Spring Break… Is it Over Yet?

by Shannon on March 19, 2010

This week has been full of fun, no preschool all week. Perfect week for the time change. Spring Forward, means no getting up at 6 am ( old time) to get the kids off to school! My big boys (teens) went on a ski trip with our church, and got back this morning. I got to pick them up at 6:30 am, which is great since they are coming home all safe and sound, and in one piece! We have to save all the Dr. Bills for me, who will be having the Gall Bladder Surgery on Thursday this week. Yes, I am scared to be put under, however people have been telling me it is not that bad…. ya right they are not the ones having a body part removed! You never know, after this surgery I could become addicted to surgery and have some cosmetic work done.. the girls could use some work. (Okay, not doing that.. ouch.)

Humm.. what else have I been doing? Oh, my sweet nephew has been here with me this week. This is great, as he is super sweet and has been help with my stinker, I mean my sweet innocent loving Braddock. So we had haircuts, shopping and just hanging out! I also made a million homemade meatballs and speghetti sauce on Wednesday for some friends of my parents. Apparently they were a hit, my mom texted me and that is what she said, so now I can breath a sigh of relief.

Today, I was going to hit the Zoo and McDonald’s for lunch (packed no parking there either) Well apparently the whole state of Oklahoma was there at the Zoo and/or Mc D’s. I had to turn around and just say no to that mission, so we headed back to Edmond, and I thought POP’s would be fun. How crowded could they be on this 70 degree weather day because everyone is at the Zoo.. well busy packed no parking spot. I might have had to park my new beast of a car to close to another car and the hubby would of not liked that to much! He is a facebook spy, and I think a blog stalker too. He knows my every move! LOL… So we left POP’s by this time STARVING.. so off to Ted’s (Mexican in Edmond) surely they are not busy, I mean everyone is at the Zoo, McDonalds’,Pops or somewhere outside on this pretty day. WRONG! 30 minute wait at 2:00 pm what is wrong with everyone… Boys said we are staying, at this point in time hungry and they love Ted’s 3 year old screaming I WANT MCDONALDS! So what is a mom to do, listen to him throw a fit at Ted’s for 30 minutes while we wait or drive down the street to Mc D’s?  Yep, that is correct put our name on the list left the boys (teenagers) took the little one to get his McD’s Chicken nuggets, BBQ sauce and a Toy.. are you tired yet?

So we arrived back at the Restaurant just in time to be seated and had a wonderful lunch with a sweet boy that was happy with his lunch, and the older boys ate until they could not eat anymore…. then the phone rang, Hubby: So is Ted’s on your Diet? Yes dear.. it is. LOL..  Welcome Home Boys!

Oh, BTW, Winter Storm Warning for tomorrow. 5 to 10 inches of Snow with Blizzard like conditions! Not to mention it is the first day of spring, whatelse do you excpect when you live in OKlahoma!

Good luck with your surgery!

and funny – I was thinking this morning that this would be the perfect week for spring break because of the time change. I've had to fight to wake them up each day for school…. We're next week, of course. Whee.
